1998년 라이브 음향 엔지니어로 시작, 2005년부터 방송 송출 및 미디어 전송 엔지니어의 길을 걸어오며, 테이프 기반 아날로그 시스템부터 최신 IP 미디어 라스트마일 환경에 이르는 미디어 전 영역과 ICT에 대한 폭넓은 이해를 바탕으로, 미디어와 통신 기술의 융합을 통해 새로운 개념을 제안하고 실현시켜 왔습니다.

국내 최초로 HD 송출 대행 서비스, 실시간 IP 방송망 상용화, 인터넷 기반 멀티캐스트 방송 분배망 상용화에 성공 했으며, 해외 국영 통신사 IPTV 서비스 설계 구축, 홈쇼핑 채널 송출 시스템 수출, 위성 방송 플랫폼 헤드엔드 설계 등, 해외에서도 기술적 역량을 발휘해 왔습니다.

시간이 나면 탁 트인 옥상에 올라 주위를 바라보는 것을 좋아하며, 이를 쏙 빼닮은 두 아이에게 매일 어깨 위 무등을 태워주어야 하는 아빠입니다.

필명으로 사용하는 EQMaker는 EQuality Maker를 뜻하며, 본래 equalizer를 사용하고 싶었으나, 이미 사용되는 곳이 너무 많아 나름의 고심 끝에 만들어낸 단어 입니다.

본 블로그의 이름 DectEng는 Decent Engineer를 줄인 말로, 아래의 의미를 담고 있습니다.

Beginning his career as a live sound engineer in 1998, he has been working as a broadcast transmission and media engineer since 2005. Based on a broad understanding of the entire media domain — from tape-based analog systems to the latest IP media last-mile environments — and ICT, he has proposed and realized new concepts through technology convergence.

He successfully pioneered Korea’s first HD broadcasting agency service, the commercialization of a nationwide real-time IP broadcasting network, and the commercialization of an internet-based multicast broadcasting distribution network.

Additionally, he has demonstrated his technical expertise overseas through projects such as designing and building IPTV services for national telecom companies, exporting home shopping channel broadcasting systems, and designing satellite broadcasting platform headends.

He likes to go up to the rooftop and look around, and he’s also the kind of dad who gives his two children, who take after him, piggyback rides.
